KNOCK KNOCK INTRODUCES FIRST-EVER LINE OF STUFFED ANIMALS:
THE SUPER SNUGGLY AND SWAPPABLE CLUMP-O-LUMP

Clump-o-Lump’s “Zip-and-Match” Provides
Over 2,303 Combinations for Kids of All Ages to Play

(Venice, CA) January 30, 2012 – Knock Knock, leaders in interesting, smart, well-designed gift and stationery products, today introduces Clump-o-Lumps: a line of six collectibly cute, character-based stuffed animals that zip apart into three whimsical pieces—head, torso, and rump—so they can be mixed, matched, and multiplied. Early reviews are in, and children, parents, and retailers have all raved, hugged, and zipped about what could be the hottest toy of 2012.

The Clump-o-Lump family includes Frog-o the Frog, Bee-o the Bee, Shark-o the Shark, Bird-o the Bird, Tig-o the Tiger, and Squid-o the Squid. The whole family can be unzipped, mixed, and zipped again: a real-life mathematician calculated that over 2,303 Clump-o-Lump combinations (okay, the real number is 2,304) are possible. While the animals each have their own unique identities, their insides are the same—red with a white circle running through the center that one could call Bone-o the Bone. Each child will have the ability to use his or her imagination to create new creatures by mixing and matching Clump-o-Lumps and making up original stories about them.

The Clump-o-Lumps line was developed by Knock Knock from an original creation by Max Knecht, an industrial designer and recent graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. For Knecht, an ordinary presentation in Art Center’s “Bringing Your Product to Market” class made good on the course’s title—when he presented his Clump-o-Lump inventions, the guest lecturer that day was none other than Knock Knock head honcho Jen Bilik, who was blown away by the prototypes, even though they were Max’s first-ever sewing effort.

“The moment I saw these early Clump-o-Lumps, I knew this was something I wanted to add to the Knock Knock family,” said Bilik. “Knock Knock has always been more a sensibility than a particular product type, and we all felt that the Clump-o-Lump concept was gloriously consistent with Knock Knock’s emphasis on play, surprise, intelligence, innovation, and design . . . so, America, get ready to zip!”

Clump-o-Lumps are made of soft fleece and felt and sit about 18 inches tall, with floppy limbs that add another 15 inches. To zip and match, the intended age range is five to ten years old, though children younger than five love to hug their Clump-o-Lumps and take them apart. Humans of any age will race to hug, squeeze, and create their own versions of the 2,304 different Clump-a-bilities!

Knock Knock products are sold in over 6,000 stores in the United States, from stylish boutiques to booming chains, as well as distributed around the world. The entire Knock Knock catalog can be found and shopped online at www.knockknockstuff.com.

The Clump-o-Lumps are making their debut this week at the New York International Gift Fair at the Javits Center. If you’re in the area, please stop by Knock Knock’s booth (#7404) to squeeze and zip the Clump-o-Lumps yourself and meet Jen Bilik.
